To the scale of a country made up of only about 1.2 million inhabitants, this could be considered as an achievement in itself, with everyone going back to his insignificant prerogatives...BUT, truth is that it starts now.

Sometimes you think some things are useless and you let them behind...But what's great with internet (Or not that great either!) is that NOTHING is ever lost.
Crossbreed Supersoul are releasing a new album and they've decided to use all the possible ways they can to promote it...Internet IS the tool.

The new album is out on the 31st of September 2011, only to download on their Website!
But you can find them on Facebook, On Myspace, or even now on Last FM.

The story of a journey

Arriving in Reunion Island was feeling good at first, before we thought about passing through with our guitars and CDs...This was the first worry.

And then we saw this big van our manager, Swaz (this lady is incredible), had hired for us.. We were there, ready for the battle, or were we really? No backline to play on, we had to go in a "croisade for a backline".

Our first concert was held in a place called "le 211"... Only the sky above our heads, sweating under reunion sun, setting up all the stuff on stage.. We felt like we were in the heaven found in hell. Overwhelming sense of :"well...we are doing it guys...we are doing it...all by ourselves"

First coughs, first uneasy feelings...we had to play, but we sent our sound engineer in the Arena first, with his laptop, bass guitar and drums...He was just extraordinary. In my mind I thought "we should have been doing his first part dudes..."

The road, the mountains...the road, the mountains...feeling lonely, even surrounded by seven crazy people. Turning and turning, twisting...was it the smoke, was it the ladies, was it the music...Might have been anything really, but the inspiration was back.

We wrote a song over there, we wrote a song..."Change":

the world is changing in aspect and for real

The wind passes by demeaning some or all your past
Slipping through your hands, falling to disgrace

People are changing in aspect and for real
Changing in screens, shots, energy, savings

How to know if you get it right

We wrote it before the end of the tour...But some lyrics seem to be premonitory. "so what now, do we all sit and do we cheer (...) the journey is ending in cracks, pops, in nothing"... Will this experience turn out to be final or is it only the first round? well, manager, we are asking the question...

We met a lot of people, and mostly nice people. And we also met Crossbreed, its true soul. We did not know some "facettes" of some of the boys : Arms does catch a cold, he's human; Guylain is the youngest of the band; Laurent is the wisest; Roro sleeps like a baby; Vincent can be nice sometimes...And francoise is Funny!!!!! Jordi is sexy and Gavin takes a bath at least, everyday! All prejudgements have disappeared, and we are hoping for the best...

What is happening with this album, dudes?!!!!!

Xbreed is tearing it's hair off!!! Everytime they get to listen to it, "letter to G" seems to be a greedy child. "I have to really work out on some voice tracks", vincent speaking," need to get the most of it...must not sound like a studio album.We would like it to sound like a bloody great live album!!"...

Roro's now famous keyboard performance is spreading...Is he genius? "NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT!", claims the genius himself,"i'm just hitting two notes!!"..Well mister, you hit them pretty well!

when is it going to come then? " we're thinking about june...june might be a good month"

Better be, guys...It was supposed to be ready in January!!!!

What's up

Hi people...Yep, a long time since Xbreed has given some newz...We are pretty busy these days with the recording and on top of that, Mr.Hein, our recording God, has just left for Europe...For a wedding!!!
Of course, he'll be giving away our new Baby to people over there, to try and see if Xbreed is good enough...If you get my point. Anyway, the recording process is a long one...Longer than we could expect, with everyone having a job, difficulties to adapt to everyone schedule, out of tune guitars...can be a big mess sometimes..

Last song we worked on is called "Come to light"...I could give you the lyrics:

We can help..

Xbreed wants to help Jean-Francois, who nearly lost his life in a car accident on the 31st of december 2006.

This is why they are playing for him at the Kitsch club on the 3rd of march at eleven.

Xbreed won't be asking any money to perform, but they would like the people who usually follow them to buy a ticket for that special night (Rs.250) and help in making it a success (and forget AG22), showing that we can invest our time, money and love.

Jean-Francois needs to learn everything again as if he is born a second time... we need to help him.

Important notice

Hi! Xbreed fans, we have bad news...Xbreed's concert at AG22 has been cancelled and it is a shame!

The reason for this cancellation is the unwillingness from "la direction" to invest some money in a sound system. This means that Xbreed should be made up of two guys, one who sings and the other with some shitty music programmed on a floppy disk inserted in an electronic piano, to be able to perform.
We have to pinpoint that we never were the organisers, and that we were asked to perform there.

This really makes us ask some questions: does anyone here understand that investment, whether in money, in time or in love, obviously brings results one day or another?

people cannot think big here, especially those who possess the money,

so ***** them!!!!!.

Album...Choose the title

Confirmation! Xbreed Supersouls start recording their new album on the 11th of November. About 13 songs on the list. However, no title has been given yet. "I think we should keep that as final "deed", as a conclusion to our work, not an introduction...", dixit Roro, Himself!.

Though Vincent tries hard everyday to figure out something :"I think about it everyday..I just want to find a title people could remember...something like 'Ok Computer' or 'Black album'...It's true the music has to be good, but I'm sure that the title gives the 'tendance'.."

"I think lyrics are as important as the songs themselves because when we write them, it's always about a situation that touches us and I would like to share that with the people who listen to us... so that they can in a way, understand our point of view..Even if each one can interprete as he or she wishes to..."

"Well...apart from the songs people already know from our album, there is this creole song we just made. I would like people to see its lyrics because it speaks about 'others' but also about us..About how, even if see us as artists, we do sometimes act like those we criticize. We would like to thank our fans for their support... But instead of saying 'fans' we should talk about friends, because we don't consider anyone who likes our music - or anyone else, except for George- as being below us.

We would like to express the positive fellings and vibrations we get from YOU, even if we understood since a long time ago that it won't always be 'wahoos!' and 'Yahoos!'.

So, we thank all those who sent us their 'compliments' on this blog or else where. We hopefully managed to reply to those persons, who always leave their name or their E-mail adress.

Thanks also to those who don't like Xbreed because consensus has never been our aim, and because rock music is about everything but consensus.

We would also like to reply to some 'anonyms' through this blog because we can't find another way to bring answers to their questions.

It is true that our blog is not updated daily and we are sorry for that, really... But as you must surely know, we don't have any team of any sort doing the job for the five of us...And, by the way, it is also because we really don't consider ourselves as being star-acts that no daily update is done : our lives is not more interesting than anyones'...However it is true that whenever there is an upcoming event, this blog will talk about it.

We little mauritian rock lovers will remember the 21st of january 2006 as being the date of Xbreed's first album release...

Cd release at the Banana Beach Café was a success... More than they were expecting... Crowd going crazy, music exploding, it was a concert many will remember for long. Nearly one hundred albums were sold in two hours, thanks to the faithful fans...

the album will be available soon in the music shops ( Solid Gold, Power Music and smash Records).

Thanks to Richard Hein, Xbreed has been given the opportunity to
finally release this live album which is only a prelude to their studio
recording next year.

They finally agreed in releasing only the audio tracks of this
concert recorded back in July at the Banana Beach Café. The record is
made up of twelve tracks including the popular titles 'Smile' and
'Be mine'. The rest is for you to discover...

The date of release will be uncovered soon on this blog as well as
the places where you will be able to buy this unique rock artefact!

BUSY, BUSY!

Xbreed is suddenly under the spotlights...Several concerts are programmed and their second single, 'Be mine', has touched a larger public than what was first expected.

Be mine is on Radio1 since last Wednesday and it seems that through this song Xbreed shows how they have evolved since their first single, 'Smile'. They managed to find a compromise between that surplus of energy that flows through their veins and those melancholic melody lines that live inside them.

'It's not Coldplay, it's not U2, But those guys will soon reach that level..!!!' Those words come from a famous radio animator and Dj of the island, Patrice d'Avrincourt... Of course, the guys - though they are happy to hear such positive vibrations- will know for themselves that they are a million light years away from those giants of international music, but it helps them to feed much bigger ambitions.

This song is called 'supersoul'...It has been written and composed in 2004 when singer , Vincent, thought about
writing a song that could sound like a theme for a super hero movie! By that time, however, a lot was being said about how
our planet was being destroyed by us. It might explain the nature of the lyrics.
When it was finally presented in its raw form to the 4 other members, lead guitarist, Roro, created an inspiring
guitar background that adds to the emotional nature of the song that ends up however with blasting electric guitar riffs
illustrating the anger and revolt that come after melancoly and regrets.

Xbreed back on stage.

We all knew it would not be easy, though we thought that at last Xbreed's live would be released during the month.

The live recording is ready and finally mixed but the five members of the band have another step to climb in order to reach their goal : they need to find Rs 65,000 in order to produce the minimum of 1 thousand copies.

They are presently searching for sponsors but the best way to achieve their destiny is to make music... That's why two concerts are planned at the end of October and beginning of November. The first one will be held at Arena Discotheque in Flic en Flac on the 31st of october.

On the 5th of November... Big day!! Concert at le Morne starting from 1.00 PM with house music (Ramik17 and Dj Lebo) and concluded by two rock concerts: Kelp(another mauritian Rock band, willing and very talented) and ...Xbreed!!

Producer Richard Hein seems to be keen on finally recording a 'true' album. But one condition has to be filled : the double VCD live has to be a success...
